you all remember my beautiful friend nayla (previously mentioned in older posts
) well, after many, many sleepless, coffee drinking nights, she managed to finish her interior design senior project successfully. i help her with the design of the book that explains all about the original project (which might i mention, was executed in an innovative and creative way, chapeau bas nayla):
“It takes the following three to define a particular space; visualizing it in terms of concept, studying its ambiance and atmosphere, creating a certain mood that reflects the requested theme. Producing a common public space requires a deep understanding of people’s everyday interests. THE STREET is the best way to get to these concerns and profoundly navigate within them. It is a public parcel of land adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about.”
The book:
It contains a brief introduction to the issue of politics and the way it is affecting people’s daily lives, followed by a general history of the political events that occurred in Lebanon in the past three decades. The aim of this book is to pinpoint the mistakes carried out previously and synthesize a new way of thinking which would contribute to the fusion of the society breaking the ice created between communities. The role of a designer is to find solutions, and this project in particular is a remarkable attempt to blend as much people possible, taking into account the identity and the uniqueness of the public in general and the individual in particular.
